Care
- Wash
- Cold, with like colours. On its own the first time.
- Dry
- Tumble dry low.
- Iron
- Don't iron. Don't dry clean.
- Bleach
- Non-chlorine only.
- Expect
- Pigment dye. Some colour comes away early and can rub off onto pale fabrics, no two shirts are quite the same shade, and it fades gently by design. Barely shrinks — dyeing pre-shrinks it.
- Embroidery
- Holds well on a cloth this heavy.
Good to know
- A new print can smell faintly of vinegar, or carry a pale mark from the pre-treatment. Both wash out.
- Keep it out of direct sunlight before that first wash — the pre-treatment can sun-stain, and that doesn’t come out.
- No fabric softener. It dulls the print.
- On embroidery, iron around the stitching rather than over it. We’ve washed ours repeatedly and they’ve held up.

These are the garment’s own measurements, not body sizes — and one maker’s medium isn’t another’s, so it’s worth a look before you choose. Soft fabrics never cut quite identically, so allow a little either way.
Width is measured flat, underarm to underarm — double it for the full way round.
How this one fits
Garment-Dyed Heavyweight Tee
Garment-dyed. Relaxed fit, twill-taped neck and shoulders, double-needle hems. Solid 6.1oz weight. The shape is roomy through the chest and shoulders, but the dyeing pulls it in a little, so it lands nearer true to size than the cut suggests. Fully opaque, holds its shape and wears in rather than out.
Cut
US fit, relaxed and boxy — but the dyeing tightens it, so it comes up around half a size to a size smaller than an equivalent US tee.
Sensory notes
- Tubular body — no side seams running down the ribs at all.
- Twill-taped neck and shoulders.
- Heavy at 6.1 oz (207 g/m²) — real weight against you, if that is what you are after.
- Worth knowing: the neck label is sewn in on this one, not tear-away.
- On an embroidered design, the reverse of the stitching has some texture inside.

If it arrives faulty
Damaged, misprinted or just wrong — that’s on us. Send your order number and a photo within 30 days of delivery and we’ll replace it or refund you in full. Not sure it counts? Tell us anyway.
If you change your mind
We can’t take it back — each piece is made for you, so there’s no shelf for it to return to. Tell us within 30 days and we’ll still put it right: a discount next time, or a donation in your name to the charity we support.
